Challenge: I was hired by
a MRI practice in northeast Georgia to help manage the physicians
who referred patients to the practice. The practice consisted
of three locations each with their own marketing rep and with
their front desk person. All six employees were maintaining separate
lists of physicians who referred patients to the practice. The
practice asked me to develop a system that would consolidate the
data into one location and allow the marketing reps to better
judge how well their marketing efforts were resulting in patient
referrals.
Solution:
A central database was developed for the practice where the data
from all users would be stored. The database then produced specialized
reports for each of the specific users based on their needs. The
database has allowed the practice to more efficiently track referrals
as well as manage the marketing efforts towards referring physicians.
The practice's marketing director can also see on a daily basis
exactly what the individual reps are doing during the day and
how much they are spending on their marketing efforts. This has
enabled the practice to more effectively focus their marketing
dollars for maximum benefit.
Challenge: A radiology practice
in central Georgia with no central office and no administrative
support needed an effective way to administer their practice without
going to the expense for hiring and administrator and renting
office space.
Solution: The practice hired
me as their practice administrator and CPA. Using an on line accounting
system with sufficient internal controls, the managing partner
of the practice and I developed a remote system for paying bills,
dealing with employees and payroll and interfacing with the practice's
billing company. The practice has strived to have a nearly paperless
system which has for the most part, been accomplished.
Challenge: An anesthesiology
practice in Atlanta, although operating very successfully was
suffering from a lack of interest in the financial performance
of the practice, by the owner physicians.
Solution: I devised a graphic
two page executive summary that contained a remarkable amount
of information about the practice but could be understood and
digested by the physicians in as little as five or ten minutes.
These reports were accompanied by more detailed information if
the physicians wished to dig deeper. See my sample
reports for an example of how I can help make your practice
more understandable.
